A veneer is a thin cover that we place of a tooth to change the shape, color, or fill a gap in your smile. There are many ways that we use veneers in our practice and a few different options as well.
Types of Veneers
There are two types of veneers: Porcelain and Composite.
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are bonded, strong, long-lasting. However, they are more expensive than composite.
Composite Veneers
Composite veneers are made from filling material and offer the same benefits as porcelain veneers at a more affordable price. However, they are not as strong or long-lasting – although they still do last and are a great option.
Veneers at Summit Family Dental
We offer both to help suit the needs, goals, and budgets of our patients. The process starts with a consultation, where we will discuss all of the options with you and determine which is best for you.
What to Expect from Veneers Appointment
Porcelain Veneers
After the consultation, you'll have one appointment where we prep your teeth for the veneers and take an impression so we can manufacture the permanent set. During this appointment, you'll have temporary veneers placed on your teeth. Then you come back a few weeks later for the real veneers.
Composite Veneers
There is only one appointment for your composite veneers, which is another plus for these guys!
